Who Is Zydrunas Ilgauskas?

Zydrunas Ilgauskas is a Lithuanian-born American former pro basketball player.

Born on June 5, 1975, Ilgauskas played the center position for the Cleveland Cavaliers of the NBA between 1997 and 2010.

He is well known for being the tallest amongst his team members as a player, standing at 7 ft 3 inches (2.21m) tall.

He made his debut with the Lithuania national team in 1994.

He had recorded 7.7 points and 7 rebounds per game.

Zydrunas has a history of injuries but he was quick to overcome them.

Zydrunas was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers as 20th overall pick in the first round of the 1996 NBA draft.

He also played for the Miami Heat where he was named to the 1997-1998 All-Rookie First Team.

Zydrunas has been an NBA All-Star twice and played in the 2007 NBA Finals.

Zydrunas has won the award of the most valuable player of a Rookie Challenge during his career.

Before retiring in 2011, he made his mark with his uncommon rebounding skills, as well as his accurate jump shot.

In 2015, Zydrunas took up the job of an assistant coach at Saint Ignatius High School.
