Zoo Orangutan Attack: Has there ever been an orangutan attack?

Orangutans are large apes that live in the Indonesian and Malaysian rainforests. They are now exclusively found in Borneo and Sumatra, but they once roamed Southeast Asia and South China during the Pleistocene.

Orangutans are one of the most intelligent primates on the planet. They make intricate sleeping nests out of twigs and foliage each night using a variety of specialised techniques.

Orangutan attacks on people are almost unheard of; However, there has been a recent video of an Orangutan attacking a man visiting a zoo.

The orangutan grabbed him through a cage and refused to let go in the viral video which was posted on Tuesday, June 7 from an Indonesian zoo.

The man was unable to break free and was brought closer to the cage, the huge ape’s incredible strength was demonstrated.

The orangutan then gripped his legs with such vigour that it appeared as though he was attempting to bite the victim while lifting him off the ground. The man who was later identified as Hasan Arifin eventually broke free and was uninjured.
