Zoey Deutch Parents: Meet Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch

Zoey Deutch is an actress from the United States. She rose to prominence for her roles in the films Everybody Wants Some!!, The Politician on Netflix, and Set It Up.

Zoey Deutch was born in Los Angeles, California, on November 10, 1994, to actress Lea Thompson and director Howard Deutch.

Zoey Deutch’s father is of Jewish ancestry from New York, and her mother is of Irish ancestry from Minnesota.  Deutch is Jewish and had her bat mitzvah.

Lea Thompson is best known for her roles in the Back to the Future film trilogy (1985-1990) as Lorraine Baines-McFly and Beverly Switzler in Howard the Duck (1986).

She starred as the title character in the NBC sitcom Caroline in the City in the 1990s. She co-starred as Kathryn Kennish in the ABC Family-turned-Freeform series Switched at Birth from 2011 to 2017.

Zoey’s father is well-known for his collaboration with filmmaker John Hughes. Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful, two of Hughes’ best-known screenplays, were directed by him.

Among her other close relatives are her maternal grandmother, musician Barbara Barry Thompson, paternal grandfather, music executive Murray Deutch, and great-uncle actor Robert Walden.
