Yudai Baba parents: Meet Toshiharu Baba

Former basketball player for Tsukuba Yudai Baba was born to his father, Toshiharu Baba, and his mother whose identity is undisclosed.

His father, Toshiharu, is a high school basketball coach who formerly served as coach at Baba’s high school, Toyama Daiichi High School.

Toshiharu had also represented Japan in international competitions as far back as the 1970s and 1980s.

Who Is Yudai Baba?

Yudai Baba is a basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Texas Legends of the NBA G League.

Born on November 7, 1995, in Toyama, Japan, Baba played high school basketball at Toyama Daiichi High School, and played college basketball for the University of Tsukuba.

During his collegiate career, he helped his team win the All Japan Intercollegiate Basketball Championship three times in a row, and earned the best player award.

In 2017, Baba began playing for the Alvark Tokyo of the B.League, where he recorded a career-high of 22 points on 50 percent shooting.

He additionally played for the Texas Legends, and later Melbourne United of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL).

In 2022, Baba signed another deal with Melbourne United, while he made another stint with Texas Legends at the same time.
