Ben Potter, the YouTube personality known for his audio dramas based on comic books, has died at the age of 40.

Potter, who was widely recognized as Comicstorian by his 3 million followers, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 after what his wife, Nathalie Potter, described as “an unfortunate accident.”
She shared the news on his X (formerly Twitter) account but did not provide further details.
“To many of you, he was Comicstorian, voicing stories from across multiple different mediums. To his loved ones, he was one of the best and most supportive individuals anyone could ask for,” Nathalie wrote.
She described Ben as a loving and genuine person who was always there for his loved ones, ready to listen, make them laugh, and provide reassurance. Nathalie plans to continue Potter’s channel in his memory, intending to honor him by continuing to tell great stories.

For over a decade, Potter had been a significant figure in the YouTube comic book community, regularly discussing Marvel and DC universes in more than 4,000 videos. His work resonated deeply with fans of comic-book fandom.
Other notable figures mourning Potter’s death include actor O’Shea Jackson Jr. and comic book author Scott Snyder. Jackson expressed his heartbreak, calling Potter one of his favorite YouTube creators. Snyder remembered Potter for his infectious love for comics and offered his condolences to the family.
