Yemi Alade Opposes Nigeria Universities Reopening Amidst COVID-19

Popular Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade, has reacted to the government’s decision to reopen Nigerian Universities amidst the spike of a second wave of COVID-19 in the country.

According to her, it is imprudent to reopen the universities due to the increasing number of cases recorded in the country as the day passes by. He proposed the government provides at least free COVID-19 test, sanitisers, facemask and others to prevent the spread of the virus among the students.

The ‘Johnny’ hitmaker also mentioned that it will be difficult to adhere to the social distancing protocol with students in a class of hundred. Yemi Alade with the absence of COVID-19 protective gear, the government should reconsider its decision of reopening the Universities.

The deadly COVID-19 has hit every nation and all the countries across the world devising measures to curb the spread of the virus. Although some countries have eased restrictions on social gathering and reopened Universities, Yemi Alade believes Nigeria is not ready to reopen their Universities.
