According to reports, Bounou had complained of having problems with his eye sight before the match against Belgium.

Who Is Yassine Bounou?

Yassine Bounou is a Canadian-Moroccan football player who currently serves as a goalkeeper for La Liga club Sevilla and the Morocco national team.

Born on April 5, 1991, in Montreal, Canada, Bounou played football for Wydad Casablanca, Atlético Madrid, Zaragoza, Girona, and Sevilla.

Bounou has made over 100 La Liga appearances for Girona and Sevilla, and 56 appearances in Segunda for Zaragoza and Girona.

In 2012, he played for the under-23 team at the Olympics, and in 2020, he won the UEFA Europa League for Sevilla.

Bounou has also represented Morocco at the FIFA World Cup on two occasions and the Africa Cup of Nations tournament three times.

Bounou had joined Sevilla in 2019, and in 2021, he made news when he refused to speak to news men in any other language other than Arabic, at the Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
