Woody Allen Ex-Wife; Who is Louise Lasser?

Louise Lasser is the ex-wife of Woody Allen an American filmmaker, actor, and comedian who has been in the entertainment industry for more than six decades. In 1966, Allen married Louise Lasser. They divorced in 1970.

Louise Lasser is best known as the title character in the soap opera satire Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. She is also a lifetime member of The Actors Studio, where she studied with Sanford Meisner and Robert X. Modica.

She appeared in Woody Allen’s films Take the Money and Run (1969), Bananas (1971), and Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex* (*But Were Afraid to Ask) (all of which she directed) (1972).

She also provided the voice for Allen’s spoof dubbing of the Japanese spy film What’s Up Tiger Lily? in 1966.

Lasser cites Allen as “a tremendous influence — but it’s the influence to make me be me….I remember the day he said, ‘I do jokes…your comedy is attitude.

In 2022, she appeared in Funny Pages, her first role in a theatrical feature film in almost 20 years.
