Wizkid And Tems’ Essence Hit Number 16 On Billboard Hot 100

Nigerian singer, Wizkid’s song, Essence, which features Tems, emerged as the first Nigerian song to hit Billboard’s Hot 100 chart.

This achievement comes after the song hit the Billboard Bubbling Under Chart for the first time. This new milestone marks Wizkid’s third appearance on the chart and Tem’s first remarkable achievement with the star boy.

This was announced in a post sighted on chart data. The post stated that “@wizkidayo earns his first top 20 hits on the Hot 100 as a lead artist this week, Essence is the highest-charting Nigerian song in the chart history. Billboard Hot 100: #16(+28) Essence…”

Hot 100 rankings are based on sales(physical and digital), radio play and online streaming in the United States. Essence is one of Wizkid’s studio album (Made In Lagos) tracks released in October last year. The album is a 14 track project which features global musicians such as Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, and Damian Marley.
