Wilson Bickford Cause Of Death

Mr Wilson Bickford passed away on Saturday, December 18 2021 at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center with his wife and daughter by his side. He was 62.

He was a self-taught artist, learning to paint in his 30s, and encouraging anyone to do the same. He began to share this passion with others by teaching art, beginning by teaching evening classes in his home while working at Gouverneur Talc Co.

In 2002 he pursued his dream of teaching art full time. With his accessible and encouraging manner and sharing what he liked to do with others, Bickford transformed the lives of countless students.

“He motivated artists across our region to see that teaching and selling their work might lead to a career in the arts,” Maggie McKenna, executive director of the St. Lawrence County Arts Council, said. “By teaching them skills and assisting them in finding success in their work, he inspired every one of his students, which is not simple to do.”

Wilson is survived by his wife Glenda and daughter Amy Ordway
