William Anthony Perry is a former defensive lineman in American football who spent ten seasons in the National Football League (NFL), mostly with the Chicago Bears. Because of his imposing bulk, he was known as “The Refrigerator.” He participated in college football at Clemson University and was chosen by the Bears in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft.

Perry rose to fame during his debut campaign as a member of the Bears squad that took home the franchise’s lone Super Bowl victory in Super Bowl XX. At 335 lb (152 kg), Perry set the previous record for the heaviest player to score a touchdown during the season when he occasionally played fullback in goalline situations.
