William Gao’s fame soared after he starred as Tao Xu in the Netflix adaptation of Heartstopper, a new Netflix series, adapted from Alice Oseman’s popular webtoon, is beautiful, queer joy — a coming of age story about learning what you deserve, and the priceless value of the friends who see in you what you can’t yet see in yourself.
The first season of Heartstopper dropped on Netflix at 8am GMT on Friday 22nd April, 2022.
William Gao was born on February 20, 2003, to his mother Liping Hardy Gao, and dad in Croydon Town in England.

Wiliam Gao attended Trinity School, where he played piano and participated in choir.
William Gao was admitted to the National Youth Theatre in May 2019.
William Gao is also a music lover and songwriter, and has released “Misfit Biscuit,” “U Deserve,” “Burning Eyes R Calling,” and “Why Don’t U love me” on various music platforms such as Spotify with sibling Olivia Hardy.
