Lightyear is an upcoming American computer-animated science-fiction action-adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and Wait for Disney Pictures and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures.

It is a spin-off of the Toy Story film series, serving as an origin story for the fictional test pilot/ astronaut who the Buzz Lightyear toy featured in the previous films was inspired by the action figure of the same name presented in the film within a film the characters in Toy Story would watch.

In the main films, Zurg is the secondary antagonist of Toy Story 2 and returns as a cameo character in Toy Story 3. He will be appearing in some capacity in Lightyear.
He is also the main antagonist of the series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command and its 2000 film Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins.
