Will Will Smith Lose His Oscar?

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences handed out awards at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and celebrated cinema in its finest form. However, Will Smith and Chris Rock’s on stage altercation left many with mixed reactions.

Will Smith won the Best Actor Awards minutes after he went up on stage and punched Chris Rock for making fun of his wife.

After the show, the Academy released a statement on their Twitter page saying, “The Academy does not condone violence of any form. Tonight we are delighted to celebrate our 94th Academy Awards winners, who deserve this moment of recognition from their peers and movie lovers around the world”.

Many users are however saying the Academy has strict guidelines on violence hence, Will should be asked to hand over his award. The Academy hasn’t issued a statement yet.

Meanwhile, the LAPD informed that Chris Rock is not willing to press charges against Will Smith.
