Will Smith Refused To Leave Oscars After Slap, Academy Reveals

It has been revealed that Will Smith was asked to leave the Oscars after breaking the Academy’s code of conduct but he refused.

The academy also stated that it has commenced disciplinary proceedings against Will Smith.

In a statement released by the academy, it said, “Mr Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, [but] we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently.”

It also announced it had “initiated disciplinary proceedings against Mr Smith for violations of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct”.

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars after Chris made fun of his wife’s health condition. This has sparked a lot of conversations on social media as people are asking that he should be stripped off his award.
