Ricky Council IV (born August 3, 2001) is an American college basketball player for the Southeastern Conference’s Arkansas Razorbacks. (SEC).

Council was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina, and attended the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability.
As a senior, he was named third-team All-State after averaging 23 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game.
Council was a three-star prospect who chose Wichita State over offers from Rice, Appalachian State, Elon, Hofstra, UMBC, Georgia Southern, Siena, James Madison, and Coastal Carolina.
Wichita State University was where Council began his college career. Over 22 games, he averaged 7.1 points and 3.4 rebounds and was named to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) All-Freshman team.

Arkansas junior guard Ricky Council IV announced Tuesday that he is entering his name in the 2023 NBA Draft after spending one season in Fayetteville.
“Transferring and coming to Arkansas was a very hard decision but I want to thank Coach Muss, Coach Argenal, Coach Smart, and the rest of the support staff for making that transition as easy as possible,” Council said in a tweet.
