English actor, Ioan Gruffudd has closed a deal to join Will Smith and Martin Lawrence as the cast of the popular Sony Pictures franchise, Bad Boys 4.

According to reports, he will play the role of Lockwood, a high-profile attorney running for election. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are set to return as directors of the new movie.

Born on 6 October 1973, Ioan Gruffudd began his career as a teen actor when he was just 13 years old. His first movie was Austin (1986) and also starred in the Welsh language soap opera Pobol y Cwm (People of the Valley) from 1987 to 1994.
When he was 18 years old, he started attending the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London. When he was in his final year at the age of 21 in 1995, he was cast in Hedda Gabler as George Tesma, husband of Hedda, the lead character.

He made his first major appearance in a movie in 1997 when he starred in Wilde as John Gray, and Titanic as Harold Lowe. He also starred in Great Expectations on BBC in 1999, Warriors (1999), 102 Dalmatians (2000), Black Hawk Dawn (2001), The Forsyte Saga (2002), and King Arthur (2004).
Gruffudd is one of the few actors who starred in both Marvel and DC Comics. In 2005, he played Reed Richards/ Mr. Fantastic in Marvel’s Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). He also voiced Mister Miracle in Justice League Unlimited by DC Comics from 2004 to 2006.
In 2017, he debuted the male main role of Dr. Andrew Earlham in ITV’s miniseries, Liar. Since then he has starred in several movies including The Professor and the Madman, Ava, Harrow, UnReal, The Reunion, and more.
