Recently released in theaters is Disney/newest Pixar’s movie Lightyear, and it appears that they’re ready to take us on a trip down memory lane.

Fans of Toy Story who have been waiting for Chris Evans to play Buzz Lightyear may now see how the superhero came to be so beloved and his origin story.
Fans have been wondering the same thing we are: Where is actor Tim Allen? Despite the fact that moviegoers are eager to see Chris in the main role.
The actor from Last Man Standing has worked with Disney for quite some time; in fact, he has voiced the role for over 25 different productions.
So why didn’t Tim return to the character for which he is most known? There are a few causes, I suppose.
Director Angus MacLane referred to Lightyear’s inaugural teaser trailer from October 2021 as a “side-quel” to the popular franchise.

He added to Yahoo! Entertainment that the movie is intended to be a “sci-fi adventure movie starring the character of Buzz Lightyear.”
Fans were unsatisfied with his response, even if he did have a reason for why the Home Improvement star was not involved.
“I assume that the toy [voiced by Tim Allen] is based on either the cartoon series that was made after the movie or a later movie,” he continued. “So the events that Buzz is talking about in Toy Story [Buzz’s ramblings about the edge of the galaxy, Emperor Zurg, Star Command, etc.] have not yet happened. So this would be the origin story of who we know Buzz Lightyear to be.”
