Travis Fimmel, who played the role of Ragnar Lothbrok in the television series Vikings, left the show after season 4. Fimmel’s departure was planned from the beginning of the series as the show wanted to reflect the generational changes of Dark Ages royalty.

Ragnar’s death in season 4 was the end of his arc in the series, and his departure paved the way for his sons to be the main focus of the rest of the show.

Travis Fimmel was named one of the world’s sexiest bachelors by America’s People magazine in 2002. Fimmel was and had appeared on various magazine covers, including France’s Numero Homme and America’s TV Guide.

In 2010, Travis Fimmel portrayed a compassionate cowboy in Pure Country 2: The Gift. Fimmel began his career by appearing in the music videos for Janet Jackson’s song “Someone to Call My Lover” and “I’m Real” (original version) by Jennifer Lopez (both 2001).
