According to the Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson, there won’t be a Nanny McPhee 3 because the previous movie failed to make enough at the box office.

The film “Nanny McPhee” is a 2005 British comedy-drama film directed by Kirk Jones and is set in Victorian England. The film was theatrically released on 28 October 2005 in the UK by United International Pictures and on 27 January 2006 in the US by Universal Pictures.

A sequel, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang was released in 2010. The original film stars Emma Thompson as Nanny McPhee, Colin Firth as Cedric Brown and Angela Lansbury as Great-Aunt Lady Adelaide Stitch.

Cedric Brown is a widowed farmer (played by Colin Firth) with seven mischievous children who have already chased away 17 nannies due to their bad behaviour and pranks.

The seven unruly children are Simon, Tora, Eric, Lily, Sebastian, Chrissie, and baby Aggie with their oldest brother, Simon (played by Thomas Brodie-Sangster), being the brain behind the pranks.
