After an apparent incidence of racist language on the gaming site Twitch, Red Bull has suspended junior driver Juri Vips, who is driving for Hitech Grand Prix in Formula 2 this season.

In a statement, Red Bull said: “Red Bull Racing has suspended junior driver Juri Vips from all team activities indefinitely, pending the completion of an inquiry into the incident.
“As an organisation, we condemn all forms of abuse and have a zero-tolerance policy for racist words or behaviour.”
Vips joined the Red Bull set-up in 2018 and drove for their F1 team during FP1 at the Spanish Grand Prix last month.

On his own Instagram account, the Estonian apologised and stated that he would “completely” cooperate with the investigation.
“I would want to express my heartfelt regret for the offensive language used during a live gaming stream earlier today,” Vips added.
“This language is very unacceptable and does not reflect my values and ethics.”
“I regret my behaviour, and I do not intend to set this example.” I will completely cooperate with the investigation.”
Vips is presently sixth in the Formula 2 championship standings after six races, with 51 points.
