David Crosby was ousted from the Byrds in 1967 as he was feuding with his bandmates Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman. It was reported that he had also demeaned the abilities of his fellow musicians.

David Crosby and the Byrds had their first number-one hit in April 1965 with a cover of “Mr. Tambourine Man” by Bob Dylan.

David Crosby formed Crosby, Stills & Nash in 1968 with Stephen Stills and Graham Nash. The group won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist of 1969 following the release of their debut album.
In a 2010 list of the Best Albums published by the Vatican City newspaper, L’Osservatore Romano, If I Could Only Remember My Name came in second to the Beatles’ Revolver.
Five albums to which David Crosby contributed are included in Rolling Stone’s list of “The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time”.
David Crosby voiced himself on two episodes of The Simpsons, “Marge in Chains” and “Homer’s Barbershop Quartet”.
