Russ Bray will referee his last televised ranking match in the 2023/24 World Darts Championship final on January 3 as he begins to wind down his stellar career.

Russ Bray, also known as “The Voice”, is an English darts referee who works for the Professional Darts Corporation and was previously a traffic cop.
Russ Bray was born on June 22, 1957, in South Ockendon, United Kingdom. Russ Bray was the caller when Phil Taylor hit the PDC’s first-ever televised nine-darter in 2002 at the World Matchplay in Blackpool.

Russ Bray currently resides in Soham, Cambridgeshire, with his wife, Sue. He is a lifelong supporter of football club West Ham United.
Russ Bray has won several awards for his contribution to darts, including the PDC Referee of the Year award in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020.
On November 21, 2023, Russ Bray announced that he will be retiring at the end of the 2024 PDC World Darts Championship, but will continue to work with the PDC as an ambassador.
