Nabi’s journey began with domestic teams from 2007 to 2022, paving the way for his illustrious international career.

His historic ODI debut in April 2009 marked the commencement of Afghanistan’s presence on the world cricket stage. A decade later, in June 2018, Nabi was part of the team that made history by playing Afghanistan’s first-ever Test match.

Not only did Nabi excel in traditional formats, but he was also a key player in Afghanistan’s maiden T20 International (T20I) venture, earning the distinction of becoming the fifth cap of the Afghanistan national team in T20 Internationals in February 2010.
His leadership during Afghanistan’s appearances in prestigious tournaments like the 2014 Asia Cup and the 2015 Cricket World Cup showcased his invaluable contribution.
Beyond international cricket, Nabi’s skills shone in various Twenty20 franchise tournaments, making him the first Afghan player to be selected in the Indian Premier League (IPL) player auction.
He retired from Test cricket in 2019 and in 2020, Nabi’s influence was acknowledged when he was inducted as a member of the Afghanistan Cricket Board.
