Why is Lord Farquaad not a king? Who became king after Farquaad?

Lord Farquaad is not a king because he is not of royal blood. He cannot become a king until he marries a princess.

In the video game Shrek: Reekin’ Havoc, Thelonius was made the new king following Lord Farquaad’s death.

Lord Farquaad is the short-in-stature, ruthless ruler of Duloc. Lord Maximus Farquaad is the main antagonist of the 2001 animated film Shrek, as well as Shrek 4-D and the musical.

Lord Farquaad is obsessed with becoming a king and decides to marry Princess Fiona. He decides that Princess Fiona can be his perfect wife and queen, however, she is trapped in a tower guarded by a dragon. He organizes a tournament to find a brave knight who can rescue her and, ultimately, chooses Shrek to do the job.

Outside of the film series, Lord Farquaad appears in the Universal Studios Theme Parks ride Shrek 4-D and its comic book adaptation by Dark Horse Comics.
