King Constantine II was the last King of Greece, from 6 March 1964 until the abolition of the Greek monarchy on 1 June 1973.

King Constantine II was born on 2nd June 1940 in Psychiko, Greece, at Leoforos Diamantidou to King Paul and Queen Fredrica. He reportedly died on 10th January 2023 in Athens after battling a stroke for years.
His mother, Princess Frederica of Hanover, was the only daughter of Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick, and Princess Victoria Louise of Prussia.

King Constantine II’s father, Paul, was King of Greece from 1 April 1947 until his death in 1964. On 9 January 1938, Paul married Princess Frederica of Hanover. He was first cousin to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and father-in-law to Juan Carlos I of Spain.
King Constantine II grew up in South Africa and Egypt. He is the nephew of Prince Philip, the late Duke of Edinburgh, and husband of the UK’s late Queen Elizabeth II. . He has two siblings, Princes Sophia born in 1938, and Princess Irene, born in 1942.
Why is King Constantine of Greece in a wheelchair?
The late King Constantine was in a wheelchair because he was suffering from heart conditions, and stroke, and also had decreased mobility as a result of his health status.
