Why is Kaka called Kaka?

Kaká is a former professional footballer from Brazil who played as an attacking midfielder.

Kaka got his name from his younger brother Rodrigo, who called him “Caca” because he couldn’t pronounce “Ricardo” when they were younger. This nickname stuck and eventually became Kaka.

Kaka began his career at the age of eight in Sao Paulo before making his professional debut in 2001.

After two seasons there, he drew interest from European giants AC Milan, who were European champions at the time.

They would go on to win Serie A and the UEFA Super Cup in his first season. He won the Champions League with Milan in 2007, and the Ballon d’Or in 2008.

Kaka’s career would culminate with a €67 million move to Real Madrid following that victory.

Kaka did win La Liga during his time at the club, despite being plagued by long-term injuries that severely limited his previous abilities

Kaka retired in 2017, with his greatest achievements being the Ballon d’Or, the Serie A title, and the Champions League.
