Why is Josephine Langford absent from “After Everything?”

On Wednesday, September 13, 2023, the fifth and final film in the After film franchise was released, but it was not what people expected.

While Hero Fiennes Tiffin returned as Hardin Scott, Langford was missing for the most of the film. She did, however, participate in a proposal scene that has since gone viral.

The new film’s trailer seems to be mostly focused on Hardin’s story of coming to Portugal to make peace with a past flame Natalie.

Fans were also confused because the fourth film, After Every Happy, was initially supposed to be the final film in the series, but in August 2022, shortly before the release of After Every Happy, it was reported that a fifth and final film, After Everything, was in production.

The film was confirmed to be written by the film’s director Castille Landon, and would be the first of the series films not to be based on Anna Todd’s novels of the same name, which served as the original inspiration for the films, leaving fans confused of Tessa’s position in the new picture.

Josephine is listed on IMDb as featuring in the film and according to reports, she does appear in the last 15 minutes of the movie. Josephine has not shared any official statement on the issue.
