Fritz’s final “American Pickers” episode aired in March 2020. When the show resumed filming after COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, he did not return.

Fritz announced his departure from the show in June 2021 due to a variety of health issues, including back surgery and Crohn’s Disease.

According to some reports, Fritz was fired from the hit History Channel show after a nearly two-year hiatus to recover from back surgery, which resulted in 185 stitches and two rods in his spine.
