Why is Florida Georgia Line splitting?

Florida Georgia Line performed their final show together on Wednesday night at the Minnesota State Fair.

Before performing their set finale, “Cruise,” they thanked the audience for their unwavering support throughout their collaboration.

Rumours circulated in February 2022 that the duo might be splitting up. “I think ‘taking a break is the proper term, as opposed to breaking up,” said Hubbard to People. “We’re not going our separate ways,” Kelley Brian added.

“We’re taking a break from recording our music. We’re being artists. We love creating. And so a couple of years back, we started writing without each other and trying different writers, and now we’re both doing that with our music.”

Some fans speculated that the duo split up due to political issues that occurred in 2020 during the US presidential election cycle. However, Hubbard cleared the air.

Tyler Hubbard stated on Bobby Bones’ podcast in July 2022 that the breakup occurred because Kelley initiated them going solo, even though there is “no bad blood between the two of them.”

Hubbard did say they “might revisit getting the duo back together in 10 to 15 years.” He then joked that they would not reunite before then, “even if they were offered a million dollars to play a wedding.”
