Derek Carr is an American football quarterback who now plays for the National Football League’s Las Vegas Raiders (NFL).

He attended Fresno State and was picked by the Raiders in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Carr has been the Raiders’ central quarterback since his freshman year and has guided the team to multiple victories.
In addition, he has twice been selected for the Pro Bowl, an all-star game for the greatest players in the NFL.

Why is Derek Carr stepping away?
In order to prevent distractions, Carr will sit out the remaining two games of the regular season, according to NFL Media.
He won’t participate in practice and his status will be “not injury related.”
Carr and the Raiders decided that he would leave the organization to “avoid the apparent distractions,” according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Carr won’t participate in practice and will be classified as not injured.
