Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has offered insight into his journey towards embracing his transgender identity, shedding light on the evolution from his initial crossdressing days to becoming the prominent figure he is today.

The controversial Internet personality revealed that his venture into crossdressing initially began as a marketing strategy while he was pursuing his undergraduate studies at the University of Lagos.
Selling unisex clothing alongside his studies, Bobrisky found himself drawn to trying on the female garments he sold, gradually developing a fondness for the outfits.
In a candid interview with maverick singer Charly Boy, Bobrisky disclosed that the positive feedback he received from customers about his appearance in female attire prompted him to continue exploring the world of crossdressing.
What started as a business tactic soon transformed into a personal expression of identity as more women patronized his business and applauded his feminine look.

“About nine years ago, I was at the University of Lagos studying Accounting. I also had a side hustle, I was selling unisex clothes. Most times I try the female wears on myself and I love the outfits,” Bobrisky recounted.
“From there, I moved to female hairstyles to makeup and more women were patronising my business. So I decided to keep crossdressing since it was lucrative.”
Despite the initial skepticism and resistance from his parents, Bobrisky persevered, ultimately finding acceptance and support from his family. He expressed gratitude for their eventual understanding and acknowledgment of his true self.
