Armand Gustav “Mondo” Duplantis is a Swedish-American pole vaulter, the current world outdoor and indoor record holder, the current European champion, and the current Diamond League champion.

He won the silver medal at the 2019 World Championships. In 2015, his freshman year at Lafayette High School, Duplantis set national freshman records both indoors and outdoors and was named Gatorade Louisiana Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Duplantis got his 2023 campaign off to a strong start at the Mondo Classic in Uppsala, the meet named after him.
His winning height of 6.10 m (20 ft 0 in) represented not only his best-ever season opener but also the highest season-opening performance of any pole vaulter in history.
