Canadian actor, Devon Sawa starred in the first part of the horror film series, Final Destination and played the role of Alex Browning. However, he did not appear in the second part of the film.

According to sources, there was a dispute concerning his contract with New Line Cinema which could not be settled. In the second part of the movie, there was a newspaper revealing that his character, Alex Browning was killed off by a falling brick to the head. Therefore, he died off-screen.

“There was a point in my career after Final Destination where I wasn’t happy doing what I was doing. I may have been a bit moodier. They were throwing me money for movies that weren’t great. I wasn’t happy doing them,” he said.
“It was more interesting for me to go out and find bars or what to do that night I wasn’t happy in my life doing what I was doing, and that’s where Hunter is at this moment,” he added.
