Why did they change Kevin McCallister in Home Alone 3?

Kevin McCallister who was first played by Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone 1 and 2 had a change of character in the third part sequel. The fictional character was not played by Macaulay Culkin again.

According to sources, the original idea was slated to cast Macaulay Culkin as Kevin McCallister like it had been done in the first two films but Home Alone 3 would have seen Macaulay come as a teenager.

However, the concept couldn’t proceed as Macaulay Culkin had dropped out of acting three years earlier and thought he was becoming too old for such “childish” roles.

Who replaced Macaulay Culkin in Home Alone 3?

Alexander David Linz, simply called Alex Linz, replaced the main character in the Home Alone franchise. Kevin McCallister’s name was changed to Alex Pruitt in Home Alone 3. Several cast members of the prequel did not feature in the new movie.
