Why did the Tuskegee Airmen become legendary?

The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of pilots, navigators, bombardiers, maintenance and support staff, and instructors who were trained at the Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama during World War II.

The Tuskegee Airmen became legendary for several reasons:

• They serve as inspiration for many in the afro-american community and in general, their story is well known and is used to promote diversity and inclusion. They became symbols of courage, determination, and excellence, and they continue to be remembered and celebrated today.
