One incident that directly led to the show’s cancellation in 1986, was the death of Michael Lush.

Lush had been rehearsing a bungee jump ahead of the show, when he plunged 120 feet (37 m) to his death after his rope came loose.

The incident forced Noel Edmonds to resign from the BBC.
