Roger Maris was one of the best performing players in Major League Baseball during his playing days but could not play for over long as he returned at a very early age.

The reason why Roger Maris retired at the age of 33 years was due to the fact that he faced a series of injuries in his career and also wanted to venture into business to make more money for himself at the expense of his sporting career.

Roger Maris retired officially after playing his last game in Major League Baseball for the Saint Louis Cardinals somewhere in 1982.
