Robert John Downey Jr. is a producer and actor from the United States. Time magazine named Downey one of the 100 most influential persons in the world in 2008, while Forbes ranked him Hollywood’s highest-paid actor from 2013 to 2015.

Downey starred as Charlie Chaplin in the biopic Chaplin, for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor and a BAFTA Award. Downey rose to international prominence as Tony Stark / Iron Man in ten Marvel Studios films, beginning with Iron Man (2008).

He also starred in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes (2009), which earned him his second Golden Globe, and its sequel, Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011).

Downey has performed on the soundtracks of numerous of his films, including Chaplin, Too Much Sun, Two Girls and a Guy, Friends and Lovers, The Singing Detective, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

Why did Rdj drop out?

Downey dropped out of Santa Monica High School in 1982 and relocated to New York to pursue an acting career full-time.
