Why did Larry King cut his wife out of his will?

It has been revealed that Larry King removed his wife Shawn Southwick King from his will before his death.

The legendary broadcaster, who died in January 2021, at the age of 87, amended his will two months after filing for divorce from his seventh wife in 2019. The divorce never went through.

In October 2019, King wrote his will, making it clear that he wanted all of his assets to be left to his children. King wrote the will before the deaths of two of his children, Andy and Chaia, in 2020.

“This is my Last Will & Testament. It should replace all previous writings In the event of my death, any day after the above date I want 100 per cent of my funds to be divided equally among my children Andy, Chaia, Lary Jr Chance and Cannon,” King wrote.

King’s estate is estimated to be worth $2.5 million, but “there are likely separate assets held in separate trusts,” according to TMZ.

Shawn King went to court in February 2021 to contest the deceased’s handwritten will written in 2019.

Shawn claims that her stepson Larry King Jr. had undue influence over his father near the end of his life, and that the handwritten will contradicts a will he signed in 2015, in which she was named executor of his estate. The case has been resolved through a confidential settlement.
