Johnson later went off play, after the doctors detected a kind of heart inflammation called acute myocarditis.

Who Is Keyontae Johnson?

Keyontae Johnson is an American college basketball player who plays the shooting guard and small forward positions for the Kansas State Wildcats of the Big 12 Conference.

Born on May 24, 2000, Johnson was raised in Norfolk, Virginia. He played high school basketball at IMG Academy in Bradenton, as a junior and was later transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia for his senior season.

During one of his games, Johnson averaged 12.9 points and 7.6 rebounds. As a senior in Oak Hill, he appeared in 18 games, scoring at least 18 points.

Johnson went ahead to play college basketball for the Florida Gators. He had chosen Florida over Texas Tech, Providence, Minnesota, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech.

As a freshman, he started the final 20 games of the season, and completed the season with 8.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.

He took part in the SEC men’s basketball tournament, and a few other tournaments.

In 2020, Johnson went through a serious health challenge, and was later transferred to Kansas State in 2022, where he was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
