She called her role “pivotal” in her career, claiming that it inspired her to continue acting because she was “bored” doing “awful cheesy bad” films before she got it. Training Day was a box office success, grossing $104.5 million in the United States.

Why did Eva Mendes stop acting?
Eva has not appeared in a film since 2014. The last time she acted was in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River. Mendes explained her long hiatus in response to a fan’s comment on an Instagram photo.

“As a mother now, there are many roles I won’t do. There are many subject matters that I don’t want to be involved with, so it limits my choices and I’m fine with that. I have to set an example for my girls now,” Mendes wrote.
Mendes hasn’t fully ruled out a return to Hollywood. Mendes said she will return to acting “when there’s something worthwhile to be a part of” in an Instagram comment.
