Why did Enrique Iglesias drop out of Tecate Emblema Music Festival?

Famous singer, Enrique Iglesias dropped out of the Tecate Emblama music festival the same day he was set to perform. According to him, doctors advised him to have enough rest after suffering from pneumonia.

Dear fans, much to my regret, it’ll be impossible for me to appear at the show tonight in Mexico. I have pneumonia and doctors have advised absolute rest and have forbidden me to get on an airplane,” he wrote.

It was reported that he was replaced by a group of artists including Danna Paola of the Elite tv series. Other artists also include Kabah, Magneto, Calo, JNS, The Sacados, and Litzy.

I am frankly sad to cancel this show in a country that has given me so much. I hope to recover fast and be able to be with you all in full form soon,” he ended.

Iglesias entered the English music scene with his albums, Vivir (To Live) and Cosas del Amor. His successful crossover into the English market also includes the release of his album Enrique. 

He released his second English album Escape in 2001. His next album Quizas sold a million copies in a week, making it the fastest-selling album in Spanish in five years. His seventh album was released in 2003.
