Why Did Debbie Rowe give up custody of Her Children?

In 2001, Debbie Rowe gave up her parental rights saying, it was best for the children that she not be part of their lives.

Rowe told the judge who was overseeing the case that she had not communicated with the children in a year or so. She said that even if the singer died, she did not want custody of the children.

Rowe didn’t want to have the children for herself, she had done it solely for Jackson, she said, knowing he would be a great father.

When they got divorced in 1999, Rowe relinquished custody and full parental rights of their two children.
