Why did Danny leave The Voice?

Frontman of the rock band The Script, Danny O’Donoghue who was a judge on The Voice reality tv show, left the show to go take care of his sick mother.

“My mum had a brain aneurysm just after the second season. I think everyone thought I just pulled off the show and just didn’t want to be there. My family were back home in Ireland. When something that devastating as that goes on, you rally around. Not necessarily to the detriment of the band, but our star was rising so it seemed odd for me to come off the show. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way,” he shared.

Unfortunately, he lost his mum on February 8, 2019.

“We’ve had a hell of a year from the birth of children to the death of parents. It’s called Sunsets and Full Moons, from the finish of one thing to the beginning of something else. We believe life goes in cycles,” he added.
