CeeLo Green, an American singer, songwriter, rapper, record producer, and actor was born Thomas DeCarlo Callaway-Burton.

He’s had several name changes over the years, beginning with the hyphenated Cee-lo and then adding the surname Green. “Cee-lo” is a dice game played with three six-sided dice.

Green’s father died when he was two years old, and he later changed his surname to Callaway, his mother’s maiden name.

CeeLo Green has five Grammy Awards and is best known for his hit single ‘Crazy,’ which peaked at No. 1 on various singles charts around the world, including the UK and the US.

He has achieved success as a solo artist, as the frontman of the Southern hip-hop group Goodie Mob, and as a member of Gnarls Barkley, a collaboration with record producer Danger Mouse.

Several of his singles and albums, both solo and collaborative, have reached No. 1 in the UK and US charts. He was a judge and coach on four seasons of ‘The Voice,’ demonstrating his versatility.
