Rebecca Lynn Hammon was born on March 11, 1977, in Rapid City, South Dakota, United States of America. Hammon played basketball at Stevens High School in her hometown of Rapid City, South Dakota.

Becky Hammon is a three-time All-American basketball player for the Colorado State Rams and has played for the San Antonio Stars and New York Liberty of the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA).

In Becky Hammon’s first season in 2003 with the Tennessee Fury of the National Women’s Basketball League (NWBL), she led the league in scoring, averaging 20.6 points per game.
