Why Did Andrew Carter Resign As Iowa Head Rowing Coach?

Andrew Carter has resigned as the Iowa Head Rowing Coach at the University of Iowa. Andrew Carter spent eight years on the job since he was appointed to head the Iowa Rowing in July 2013.

Andrew became the third head coach in the history of the University of Iowa rowing program since it was established. Carter came to the University of Iowa after spending four years at the University of Miami’s women rowing coach.

He bagged over 52 championship medals in his entire coaching career, over the last 15 years. Andrew Carter coached 12 All-Americans and 59 National Scholar-Athletes.

Andrew Carter has been great in the program as he led Clemson to its first-ever Atlantic Coast Conference title. Despite COVID-19 restrictions, Carter and the University of Iowa hosted the USRowing U23 Selection Camp in 2020 and 2021.

Why Did Andrew Carter Resign As Iowa Head Rowing Coach?

The content of Andrew Carter’s resignation letter has not been revealed to the public hence, the reason for his resignation is unknown. Nevertheless, in his resignation statement, Andrew stated that this is the time for him and his family. It is presumed that work did not give him the chance to have time for his family.

The resignation of Andrew Carter is with immediate effect after he made the announcement on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

Andrew bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology-Biomechanics from Dalhousie University and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology-Biomechanics from the University of Western Ontario.
