Walt Disney and Scarlett Johansson have settled a legal dispute over the release of the Marvel superhero movie Black Widow.

In October 2021, Scarlett Johansson and Disney (DIS) resolved their dispute over the lawsuit that Johansson filed against the company in July.

The lawsuit alleged Disney (DIS) breached her contract by releasing “Black Widow,” a Marvel film starring the actress, simultaneously in cinemas and on its Disney+ streaming platform. The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but sources allege the compensation exceeded $40 million.

In 2010, Scarlett Johansson debuted on Broadway in a revival of A View from the Bridge, which won her a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress.
