Novak Djokovic is the defending champion in the men’s singles, and in women’s singles, Barbora Krejková is the defending champion. The French Open is the 126th edition and the second Grand Slam event in 2022.

Out of 128 participants, the main singles draws have 16 qualifiers for men and 16 qualifiers for women. It’s also the first time the event has used a conventional tie break in the final set, with the player winning first to 10 points, as Wimbledon and the US Open do currently.
